We are building the directory, and appreciate your support. There aren't many listings yet but this should change rapidly once we make it our focus. Food Maps: We are currently waiting on an updated food map of Melbourne (due early next year) from the Victorian Eco-Innovation Lab (VEIL), as we have been unable to successfully link to the existing map, which lists many kinds of food ventures from school kitchen gardens and community gardens to small growers and others, within the Melbourne area. However we have a new map - Fresh from the Farmer's Gate - which lists farms which sell their produce direct to the public. It doesn't have so many listings at present so let's help it to grow - tell your farmer friends about it and encourage them to list their produce on the map! As time goes on we plan to explore options for food maps that are even more locally based - or ways to assist local food groups with this... |
