We can't always supply everything we need or enjoy from a local source (I'd love to be able to grow coffee here in the hills east of Melbourne, but it just ain't gonna happen...). So for those things we just love but can't grow ourselves or just want to support others in growing, which need to come from a long way away, try Fair Trade and other sources, to try to ensure the choices you make, actually do help you make a difference to others..

Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. By requiring companies to pay sustainable prices, Fairtrade addresses the injustices of conventional trade, which traditionally discriminates against the poorest, weakest producers. It enables them to improve their position and have more control over their lives.
